Privacy policy

Last updated: 12 July 2026. This policy explains what we do with your personal information when you request a quote, book a move, or apply to become a MoveSure carrier.

Who we are

MoveSure is a furniture-removals brokerage operating in South Africa, based in Cape Town. For any privacy question, or to exercise any right below, email quotes@movesure.co.za.

What we collect

• Quote and booking information: your name, WhatsApp number, email address, the addresses you are moving from and to, your moving date, and details of the goods you are moving (including any photos or inventory you send us).
• Carrier application information: company name, contact person, CIPC registration number, insurance details, vehicle details and contact details.
• Website information: standard analytics data such as pages visited and approximate location, collected through cookies. You control this through the cookie banner.

Why we use it

• To price your move and send you a fixed quote.
• To arrange your move with a vetted carrier.
• To contact you about your quote or your move, primarily on WhatsApp.
• To vet carriers who apply to join our network.
• To meet our legal and tax obligations.

Who we share it with

When you book a move, we share only what the carrier needs to do the job: your name, contact number, the collection and delivery addresses, the date, and the inventory. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to other movers to bid on your job. Your details are never shared with anyone else for marketing.

We use service providers who process data on our behalf — our website host, our email provider and WhatsApp — and they may only use your data to provide those services to us.

Photos and inventory scans

Photos you upload to build an inventory are used to identify and count your furniture so we can price your move. They are processed by an automated inventory system and reviewed by a person at MoveSure. They are not published, sold, or used for anything else.

How long we keep it

Quote and booking records are kept for as long as we need them to run the business and meet our legal obligations (including tax records, which South African law requires us to keep for five years). Quote requests that never become bookings are deleted when they are no longer useful.

Your rights under POPIA

• Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
• Object to us using it.
• Withdraw consent to marketing at any time.
• Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe we have handled your information unlawfully.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information. No system is perfect, and if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

We use cookies for essential site functionality and, with your consent, for analytics. You can change your choices at any time through the cookie banner on this site.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be communicated to anyone with an active booking.
